SMILE Pro laser eye surgery costs from about £2,200 per eye in the UK in 2026, or roughly £4,500–£6,000 for both eyes treated together. The price is normally all-inclusive — covering your suitability assessment, the procedure on the ZEISS VISUMAX 800, and follow-up aftercare. SMILE Pro is the third-generation small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE) procedure, completing the laser step in around 10 seconds per eye through a 2–3 mm keyhole incision, with no corneal flap.
How much does SMILE Pro cost?
Pricing varies with your prescription, the clinic and the technology, but as a 2026 UK guide:
Always confirm whether a quoted price is per eye or for both eyes, and what aftercare and any enhancement (re-treatment) cover is included. Compare with other techniques on our laser eye surgery cost page and the dedicated SMILE cost guide.
What's included in the price?
A transparent SMILE Pro package should include: a full pre-operative suitability assessment and corneal scans, the surgeon's fee and the laser procedure itself, post-operative eye drops, and routine follow-up appointments. Ask whether re-treatment (enhancement) is covered should your vision need fine-tuning. Read more about the procedure on our SMILE Pro treatment page.

SMILE Pro treats short-sightedness (myopia) from about -0.50 to -10.00 D and astigmatism up to around -5.00 D. Because it is flapless, it is often favoured by people with active lifestyles or drier eyes. A consultation with corneal scans confirms whether SMILE Pro, LASIK or another option best suits your eyes. It is not used to correct long-sightedness in the way some other procedures are.
SMILE Pro vs LASIK on cost
SMILE Pro and LASIK are usually priced in a similar bracket, though exact figures depend on the clinic and your prescription. The main differences are clinical rather than financial: SMILE Pro is flapless and uses a single laser, while LASIK creates a thin corneal flap. See current LASIK cost and compare procedures on our laser eye surgery hub. Another flapless lenticule option, SILK, is also available at some clinics.
