You can have private cataract surgery on 0% interest-free finance in the UK in 2026, spreading the cost from around £242 per month per eye for a monofocal lens over 12 months. A premium EDOF lens works out at roughly £316 per month and a multifocal or trifocal lens at about £358 per month, per eye, over the same interest-free term. Finance is arranged through FCA-regulated lenders, subject to a credit check and status, with no-deposit options available. The price you finance is all-inclusive — consultant surgeon, theatre, your chosen lens and all aftercare — with nothing more to pay.
0% finance monthly payment examples
These examples are based on our all-inclusive cataract surgery prices, spread interest-free over 12 months with no deposit. Representative 0% APR; the exact monthly figure depends on the lens you choose, the term and the lender's decision.
For both eyes, simply double the monthly figure, or ask us about a longer repayment term to reduce the monthly amount (longer terms beyond the interest-free window are offered as low-rate interest-bearing finance). See the full price list on our cataract surgery prices page, and compare premium lenses on our implant lens pricing page.
Want to know your exact monthly payment? A consultation confirms the right lens for your eyes and gives you a written, all-inclusive quote you can finance.
Book a cataract consultationHow 0% cataract finance works
Interest-free finance lets you pay for surgery in equal monthly instalments instead of all at once, at no extra cost — the total you repay is exactly the surgery price.
- Get your quote — after your consultation and biometry, you receive a fixed, all-inclusive price for your chosen lens.
- Apply online — a short application to an FCA-regulated lender, with a soft-then-firm credit check; decisions are usually quick.
- Choose your term — 0% interest-free is typically offered over 10–12 months; longer low-rate terms are available for larger amounts.
- Set up your Direct Debit — with a no-deposit option or a deposit of your choice to lower the monthly figure.
- Have your surgery — treatment proceeds as normal; you simply pay your agreed monthly instalments.

Am I eligible?
- Aged 18 or over and a UK resident, usually with at least three years of UK address history.
- In regular income and able to meet the monthly repayments.
- A satisfactory credit check — the lender, not the clinic, makes the lending decision.
- No existing cataract finance that would over-extend affordability.
Approval is always subject to status and the lender's criteria. If 0% interest-free is not available to you, a low-rate interest-bearing plan or an insurer top-up may be, and our team will talk you through the options.
What you can put on finance
- The full surgery fee — one eye or both, monofocal or premium lens.
- Premium-lens upgrades — finance the whole cost of an EDOF or trifocal lens, not just a base price.
- The insurer top-up — if you have private medical insurance that covers a monofocal but you want a premium lens, the premium-lens top-up can often be financed.
- Toric (astigmatism) options — included in the financed price where needed.
Other ways to pay
- Self-pay in full — a single all-inclusive payment before surgery.
- Private medical insurance — many policies cover cataract surgery; premium lenses may need a top-up. See insured patients.
- Low-rate interest-bearing finance — for longer terms or larger combined-procedure costs.
- NHS — cataract surgery is available on the NHS with a monofocal lens, though waits vary; premium lenses are not offered. Learn more about the procedure on our cataract surgery page.
