What is Presbyond blended vision?
Presbyopia is the natural stiffening of the eye’s focusing lens with age, which makes close-up tasks — reading, phones, menus — increasingly difficult from your mid-40s. Standard laser treatments like LASIK sharpen distance vision but don’t restore near focus. Presbyond is designed specifically to solve that.
Presbyond works by creating a “blend zone”: the dominant eye is set for distance and intermediate vision, the other for intermediate and near, and the brain merges the two into one continuous range of clear sight. Because the transition is gradual rather than the sharp split of traditional monovision, most patients adapt quickly and enjoy natural depth perception. It uses the same trusted Zeiss VisuMax and MEL 90 laser platform used for SMILE and LASIK.

What happens during Presbyond treatment
Presbyond is a refined LASIK procedure performed under anaesthetic eye drops. You are awake and comfortable, and both eyes are usually treated in the same short visit.
- Numbing drops are applied and a soft eyelid holder keeps you from blinking.
- The Zeiss VisuMax femtosecond laser creates a thin, precise corneal flap.
- The MEL 90 excimer laser reshapes the cornea to the bespoke Presbyond blended-vision profile — taking only seconds per eye.
- The flap is smoothed back into place, where it self-seals without stitches.
- The second eye is treated the same way; the whole appointment is around 20 minutes.
Recovery week-by-week
Most people are amazed how quickly vision recovers. Adapting fully to blended vision takes a little longer as the brain learns to merge the two eyes.
Day of surgery
Vision is hazy and eyes may water and sting for a few hours. Rest with your eyes closed. No screens or driving; someone should take you home.
Days 1–3

Weeks 1–4
Distance vision is sharp; near vision keeps improving as your brain adapts to the blend zone. Night-time glare settles.
Beyond a month
