About Mr Andrew Luff

Andrew Luff is one of the most experienced eye surgeons practising in the south of England. His career in ophthalmology began in 1988, and over more than three decades he has performed in excess of 25,000 cataract and refractive lens procedures and more than 15,000 vitrectomy operations — one of the largest surgical experiences of its kind in the region.

He trained to Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) level in both general and ophthalmic surgery, and held the post of Clinical Service Director for Ophthalmology at Southampton General Hospital. He is a Visiting Professor at the University of Chichester, where his research focuses on symptomatic vitreous opacity (persistent floaters) — an area in which he is recognised nationally.

Patients value his calm, evidence-based approach and the continuity of being assessed, treated and followed up by the same consultant throughout their care.
