About Mr Dan Morris
Mr Dan Morris (Daniel Simeon Morris) is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon with an international reputation in cataract, refractive lens and oculoplastic surgery. He graduated with First Class Honours from the University of St Andrews and completed his medical training through the University of Manchester, qualifying in 1999.
After higher ophthalmic training in Scotland and the North of England, he undertook a prestigious fellowship in oculoplastic and orbital surgery at the Vancouver Eye Care Centre in Canada, under the internationally renowned orbital surgeons Peter Dolman and Jack Rootman. He is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.
Mr Morris is an internationally recognised authority on sporting eye injuries and high-altitude eye physiology. He is a match-day surgeon for the Welsh Rugby Union and an adviser to the British Boxing Board of Control, has collected the highest-ever eye data recorded on Mount Everest, and runs an eye-care project with the Samburu people in northern Kenya. He has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications.
